A day of giving that allows ODS to continue building friendship and acceptance through sports

Can we count on you to help us make a difference in the life of a child with special needs?

Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023 is a day where individuals, families, organizations, and businesses in all 50 states, and in countries around the world, come together to support the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live, beginning right here in Metro DC.

Like so many organizations, big or small, Open Door Sports depends on the generosity of our community to fulfill our mission and provide our programs free of charge to children with disabilities and their peer buddy volunteers. Because of this generosity, ODS has achieved a great deal in the past year:

  • Launched three new programs in fall 2023 to accommodate the growing player pool in our community.
  • Developed the ODS Changemaker Club to further develop the friendships that start on our soccer fields and basketball courts.
  • Hold our first winter break camp in late December 2023 to give our players some healthy activity during time off from school.
  • Launch our first young adult program for 18 - 25 year olds in January 2024.

We're thankful to our participant and peer buddy families for entrusting their children to us. We are proud of the work we do and, with your continued support, know we can do so much more.

Open Door Sports was founded to make a positive impact in the lives of children with disabilities and to help each child maximize their potential. Can we count on you today to help us make a difference?
