Giving Tuesday...a Chance to Help EVERY child Maximize their Potential.
Giving Tuesday is the day where individuals, families, organizations, and businesses in all 50 states, and in countries around the world, come together to support the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live, beginning right here in the DC metro area.
Like so many organizations, big and small, Open Door Sports has faced incredible challenges this year, the hardest was shutting down our programming in the spring due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. We worked hard to come back safely and responsibly for our families and reinstated programming in July, with smaller numbers, masks required, and a restructuring of our practices to maximize social distancing. Our coaches, players and peer buddies all rose to the challenge, allowing ODS to continue to safely serve a majority of our players this fall. We recently finished a very successful season at seven school locations, providing an opportunity for kids like Anderson to participate in a fun, inclusive and encouraging sports program in their communities. We've encouraged peer buddies, like Malia and Raquel, to volunteer their time to work with our players and help them reach their potential on the field and build friendship off of it. We're thankful to our participant and peer buddy families for entrusting us with their children and coming out to be active and engaged once again. We are proud of our resilience and with your support, know we can do so much more.
Open Door Sports was founded to make a positive impact in the lives of underserved children and help each child maximize their potential. Can we count on you today to help us make a difference?
